The Hot House strives in making your wedding celebration affordable and stress free by providing cost friendly menus, a versatile event space and the assistance of our Event Manager every step of the way.

With our distinct event areas–The Library, Mezzanine & Atrium– The Hot House can accommodate your ceremony and then transform into a seated reception for 170 guests or a cocktail celebration for up to 275. Weddings FAQ

Is there a venue fee?

We have to take into consideration how long the space will be occupied for and what labour is involved to transform the space from ceremony to reception. Each wedding is unique with costs being determined on a case by case basis.

Is a deposit required?

A customized Event Agreement will be created with the details pertaining to your wedding. We ask that you provide a signed copy of the agreement and credit card details to confirm the booking, acknowledge final guest count, cancellation policy and 18% gratuity. A 10% deposit is collected to secure the reservation.

When do you require a final head count?

A final head count is to be given 48 hours prior to your event. Any major changes between then and the day of, we kindly ask to be updated to ensure we are prepared for your event.

How long do we get the space for?

Our Event Manager will discuss when the space will be available based on set up needs, decorator requirements and time of events. If an extended period of time is needed, a fee may apply.

What happens if we have to cancel?

We understand anything can happen, so we ask a minimum of 30 days notice of cancellation. Anything less may be subject to a cancellation fee or loss of deposit.

Can we have a DJ and is there room for a dance floor?

Yes, DJ’s are welcome! They must bring their own sound system and speakers, as well as abide by the volume set by the manager. All music is to be turned off at 12am (Fri/Sat). Depending on the size of your guest list and floor plan, we can have room for a dance floor for your wedding!

What do you supply?

The Hot House has a wireless microphone, podium, screen and projector that can be used free of charge. We supply black linen napkins, all cutlery and table settings, glassware, tables, chairs, and standard staffing.

What can we bring in?

You are more than welcome to bring in table clothes, special napkins or any other type of decorations. We allow candles as decor as long as they are contained. The area is a blank canvas and ready for your imagination!

Is there a cake cutting fee?

We do not charge a cake cutting fee. We are more than happy to cut your cake and serve it to your guests.

Can we bring in outside food?

All food needs to be supplied by The Hot House for safety reasons with the exception of desserts and sweets.

Do you provide Gluten Free Options?

At The HotHouse, we recognize that gluten-sensitivity is a concern for many individuals. That’s why we make it easy to find tasty and comforting food choices – like gluten-free pizzas & pastas (additional costs to set menus may apply for gluten free options). Vegan and vegetarian options are also available.

Is Parking Available?

Underground paid parking is available off of Church Street between King and Front. There is also a Green P Parking Lot at Church & Esplanade.

What does the Hot House Provide?

Upon request, we can supply a podium, microphone, projector and screen. If needed we can arrange for rentals, or you are welcome to coordinate with the suppliers you prefer. We print personalized group menus when selected. The HotHouse can also arrange for floral arrangements and/or cakes upon request, adding the charges to your final bill.
